GIG wins major contract for flat-rate small repairs management for major Berlin housing company

From 1 September 2021, GIG facility services GmbH will take over a comprehensive service package within the scope of minor repair management for over 15,000 flats on behalf of degewo AG. With around 75,000 flats and over 155,000 sqm of commercial space, degewo AG is one of the largest and most efficient housing industry groups in Germany.

In the entire western half of Berlin, GIG will take over all repairs for at least 4 years, especially in the plumbing/heating and electrical trades, as part of a flat-rate model.

Interfaces for data exchange between degewo's software system and GIG were already successfully programmed during the implementation phase, so the customer was impressed by the performance of its new service provider. The staff at degewo's Customer Centre West will thus be able to view and evaluate the status of all maintenance measures in real time. In the background, a newly developed AI ensures automated and fast appointment allocation. This not only saves valuable time for the tenants, but also reduces emissions, as the continuous optimisation of tours and schedules reduces travel distances.

"As a service partner to the housing industry, we see it as our duty to support our customers in the best possible way with a high level of digitalisation and expertise in small repairs management," says Torsten Hannusch, Managing Partner of GIG Holding GmbH.
